It is hard to believe Joey and I have been friends with Laura for ten years, as long as we have known each other! As a matter of fact, Laura was one of the very first people to find out Joey had a crush on me. From the first time I met Kevin I knew this day would be just around the corner and apparently so did Kevin! He was given his grandmother’s wedding ring after only a month and a half of dating Laura. When you know you know! When Kevin approached Joey with his plans to propose and told him he wanted us to photograph the intimate moment, we happily set aside the day.
Kevin chose a beautiful backdrop for the proposal at the Winspear Opera House, where they took their very first pictures together, on an equally beautiful evening. Joey and I staked out the area the night before to find our hiding spots and waited with anticipation as we watched Kevin and Laura walk up. As they played in the reflection pool my heart was about to pop out of my chest knowing what was about to take place.
As Kevin reached for Laura’s hands, we were in perfect position to capture the complete array of emotions.
Kevin sealed the deal with me, as if that was a prerequisite, when he sent an email to all of her closest family and friends (80+ people) sharing his intentionally planned day which included each of us; knowing how much each relationship means to her!!
These two are special friends that I know we will have for years to come. We are thankful to be part of both their life and love.
These have to be some of the most beautiful pics I have seen in a long time
Love the story, AMAZING photos–so well captured of some sweet, sweet moments 🙂
Thanks Kalea! Authentic. Timeless. Raw. it’s what we do and these two made our job easy!
Mariel and Joey. I am positive that the bride-to-be is NOT supposed to be the first to comment on these pics, but I can’t resist. You all did an absolutely amazing job. I mean. incredible. All of a sudden, I look and it’s Kevin and me in these pics that I’d normally see as those little example pics in frames at the store. haha. Can’t believe I’ve known y’all so dang long… and I love getting to brag on my friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My fiancé (one ‘e’ for the guy, two for the girl…I looked it up. haha) did an incredible job preparing for this evening. (We’re talkin roses, plane rides to Lubbock, schemes, secret meetings, roses, food&wine etc!). I’m extremely grateful for the gift I have in him. I felt so loved by him, but also by all those who were around and in on it. Thanks for capturing it so I can remember these feelings so well!
P.S. Just for the record Mars, I did’t “find out” Joey had a crush on you. I KNEW. (=
I love every part of this comment! Especially the words bride-to-be coming out of your mouth!
