Perfect weather is a rarity in Texas. After a week of much needed rain and four rescheduled photo-shoots, Saturday was one of those glorious days. Kristen and her bridesmaids stayed cozy in the penthouse suite as they spent the morning getting dolled up by Mo Bowers from the Johnny Rodriguez Salon.
As Kristen opened her gift from Matt, she read the card aloud to explain the symbolism behind the intricate revolver necklace he had given to her. Let’s just say there was not a dry eye in the room. His words define their relationship and and the love I felt on their wedding day.
“This is not a gift but security you will have forever. It symbolizes my vow to protect you, nurture you, and love you until time stops. As the colt revolver did for many soldiers, I promise to do for you… I will be accurate and unrelenting as our lives continue together.”
Although the spotlight was definitely on Kristen, Matt looked quite dapper in his Hugo Boss Tuxedo and Ferragamo shoes.
After shooting Kristen’s “vintage bridals” in her mother’s and mother-in-law’s dresses, I couldn’t wait to see her in her own wedding dress. Kristen looked flawless in her new Warren Barron gown and rocked her sparkly navy blue Jimmy Choo peep-toe pumps! She held her beautiful bouquet from Stems that was wrapped with a piece of fabric from her great-grandmother’s wedding dress as her something old. She borrowed her mother’s Texas A&M garter and tossed one she caught at one of her bridesmaid’s wedding two years ago!
I think first looks are quickly becoming my favorite moment of the wedding day. The intimacy allows the couple to squeeze each other tight for as long as they like and gives the groom the liberty to take a step back, as Matt did, to savor the moment as he looks in awe at his beautiful bride for the first time.
Every girl dreams of her daddy walking her down the aisle on her wedding day. Kristen felt so blessed that her father was able give his blessings as he gave her away that she literally ran towards him as he rounded the corner. I cherish authentic moments filled with raw emotion that are so timeless—families can share them for generations to come!
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Saxton!!! We wish you a world of happiness and a lifetime of good fortune and blessings.
