On the drive back to Dallas from Houston I was able to both reflect on the fact that I am officially a FULL-TIME PHOTOGRAPHER, as well as choose all my favorites for today’s blog! Despite the fact that I love my sleep… this is not a dream. Lucky for me I get to live my dream—documenting some of the most treasured moments in peoples’ lives.
With the help of Kelly from Eventology, Elizabeth had the dream wedding she had long awaited!
I loved all of the personal touches and family heirlooms in the details of her wedding. Her veil, pearls, handkerchief, and even her crochet hook dated back three generations!
Elizabeth and Ross had an intimate “first look” in the chapel where there was gorgeous natural light. Despite the fact that there was no AC in the chapel the two beamed with joy and anticipation as they saw each other for the first time.
First looks are a very personal decision and I try not to sway my couples one way or the other, but if you are on the fence about it, I have a list of both brides and grooms that would tell you they wouldn’t have it any other way!
The two became one in the sanctuary of St. Luke’s Methodist Church and then rode to the Houstonian in The Original Trolley!
Romantic pictures often give the couple a chance to take a deep breath, embrace, and relive the moments of the day that have happened thus far before the party begins. The Houstonian is an “18-acre wooded oasis right in the heart of the city” and I was thankful Ross and Elizabeth were able to take advantage of it’s beauty while taking sometime to enjoy each other!
Be sure to check back in a couple of weeks to see more from Elizabeth and Ross’ elegant reception.
Mariel and Joey (and Luke),
